You don’t know  –  Donna Gardier (One of U.K. top session vocalist  – keeping her vocals in the studio working in Pop, Dance, Soul and Jazz was  with groups : Raw Stylus, Positive Flow & Full Flava)

Anybody wanna party  –  Gloria Gaynor (The U.K. b-side to Gloria’s ‘millstone’  or maybe i should call it her ‘pension’…. meaning wherever or whenever she is singing she will have to sing ‘that song’ … both A & B sides were written by Freddie Peren and Dino Fekaris)

Love’s gonna get ya  –  UK Players (The Players let you know which is their country of origin …  this Boogie trak (Eletro-Funk) shows that the U.K. was delivering the quality that was coming from Hush Productions, Prelude Records and/or other such organisations)

Rejoicing  –  Ultra Nate (The Basement Boys started to produce lp’s on artists rather than just a variety of 12″ by their coterie of vocalists … from her first lp/cd  : Blue Notes in the basement … released on Warner Brothers Records)

Today’s trax

Only you – Loleatta Holloway featuring Bunny Sigler (Loleatta was and still is my favourite singer … met this man at Loleatta Holloway’s funeral – he was warm humorous and you can see this man naturally has ‘star quality’ and oozed with charisma)

Music Trance – Charanga 76 (Latin version of the Ben E King single and lp of the same name … written by the the man himself …. released by TR Records named after Tito Rodriguez the owner)

If you’ve got it , you’ll get it  –  The Headhunters (Named after the Herbie Hancock’s lp of the same name …. these session men became so tight as an after playing and recording with Herbie that they became recording artists themselves  … from their lp ‘Survival of the fittest’  … has since been released on cd)

Flying Saucer -U.F.O. featuring Dee Dee Bridgewater (U.S. Jazz singer who got the the respect she so rightly deserved in France … remixed by Kings of Tomorrow where it changed genres from Jazz to House)

(You make me feel like) A natural man   –  James Ingram (James put his slant on the Aretha hit, Gerry Goffin/Carol King composition – by changing the sex of the trak from woman to man  vocal arrangement Valerie Pinston-Mayo – lead vocalist who replaced Anita Baker in Chapter 8)

Stars  –  Sylvester (Someone once said ‘i only need one name’ … with Sylvester James that was fact – big voice & big personality … sadly to say this ‘star’ shines no more … original release as a four trak lp on Fantasy Records)

Destination  –  The Warriors (An offshot of Incognito, who was having a sabbatical … released on Ensign Records who were then being distributed by RCA  … has since had a cd release  …  Incognito then  reformed after Giles Peterson started Talking Loud Records)

Medicine  –  DJ Mike Cruz presents Chyna Ro & Sandy B (At one time Nervous Records were
known for their merchandising – slip mats, caps t/sweat shirts much more than the music  … to House/Garage fans this is the perfect ‘medicine’ for the eardrums and the feet)
