Take it to the Zoo  –  Sunshine (Dara & Mary Bernard – the real life sisters of Donna Summer … from the film soundtrak “Thank God it’s Friday” – a film vehicle for Ms Summer formulated by Casablanca and Motown Records that also featured ‘The Commodores’)

Peace Pipe  –  B T Express (Also know as ‘Brooklyn Transit Express’ whose previous name was “King Davis House Rockers” – a self-contained Funk & Soul band who recorded for Roadshow Records … lead vocals Barbara Joyce)

The reason we took it underground  –  Studio Nova (Studio Nova presents Disco Kitchen … brewed, baked & roasted quoted on the vinyl release – on Chicago’s Afterhours Records imprint featuring an ‘essence’ of “Give me love – Cerrone”)

O’ Holy night  –  Patti Labelle (Patti started off her career with ‘The Bluebells’ before becoming “Labelle” then becoming a solo star in her own right … she also performed as “The Acid Queen” – from the Rock-Opera TOMMY,  a role Tina Turner portrayed in the movie)

Little Drummer Boy  –  Moonlion (Released on Pickwick International Records distribution arm – P.I.P. … made famous by Harry Simone Chorale and it was originally known as “Carol of the Drum”)

Soulful Christmas  –  James Brown (“The Minister of New Heavy Heavy Funk” made  three Christmas albums – however they were not all Christmasy as he adding some non-Christmas trax … they were re-released as ‘The Complete James Brown Christmas’ on cd)

Oh come let us adore him  –  Kenny Bobien (Grand Gallery released the  cd “Grand Gallery presents Christmas Time” feat. House/Garage which includes, Eric Kupper, Terrance Down, Heather Johnson, Monique Bingham, Stephanie Cooke amongst others and of course Kenny)

Me & Mr. Jones  –  Barbara Mason (Having becoming artist for Arctic Records in her early teens – Barbara moved to Buddah where she released more adult albums … cover of the Billy Paul’s masterpiece where she tells just what “Mr Jones” was up to, also featuring co-writer Leon Huff on piano)

Supernature  –  Cerrone (“Once upon a time, science opened up the door” are the opening lyrics of French Disco God Marc Cerrone … recorded at Trident Studios, London – Cerrone had previously recorded with his band Kongas for (French) Barclay Records)

We funk the best  –  Baker, Harris, Young ( Ron, Norman & Earl were the trio who invented Disco … they were also featured on The O’Jay’s, First Choice, Loleatta Holloway, Salsoul Orchestra, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, The Trammps and many more – they dropped this Funk nugget to show ‘They Funk the Best’)

Funk train  –  Angel Moraes (Inspired by Giorgio Moroder’s studio offshoot “Munich Machine” trak ‘Get on the funk train’ – Angel was the owner of New York’s Hot N Spycy Records and one of the few dj’s to release a mix cd on Canadian Bombay Records)
