Trax feat. James Day, Fatback Band, Midnight Star, Space 2000

Remember when  –  James Day featuring Catherine Russell (Released on an ‘extended play’ single before released on his “Better Days” album on Soulvibe Recordings … Catherine came to my attention via her featured vocals on a House/Garage single on Ton-A Records)

Night Fever  –  Fatback Band (With the burgeoning Disco sounds filling up the floors in the same way Fatback(s) brand of Funk had previously done the same – they decided to put their foot into the Disco pool … released on Spring Records)

You’re a star  –  Midnight Star (Midnight Star assigned to Solar Records – the band including  two Calloway brothers and Belinda Lipscomb amongst others … released from their first album “The Beginning” which was produced by Harvey Mason & Solar’s in-house producer Leon Sylvers)

Do you wanna funk  –  Space 2000 (Termed as a ‘High Energy’ anthem and credited to Patrick Cowley with Sylvester’ as the original artist(s) on Megatone Records … remixed by Joe T Vannelli – released Wired Recordings)

Trax feat, Truth Hurts, Touch, Barry White, Blackout Allstars

For your precious love  –  Truth Hurts (Originally a mega hit by The Impressions and co-written by Jerry Butler … critics perceived ‘Truth Hurts’ to be of mediocre talent until they heard this trak from the “Ali” soundtrak starring Will Smith)

Love Hangover  –  Touch (Diana Ross’s monster Disco anthem spawned a number of versions … released by Brunswick Records, produced by Tony Valor of  “It’s too late – Fantasy” and ‘touch-up’ by Tom Moulton at Sigma Sound, Philadelphia)

Thank you  –  Barry White (Written by Sly Stone – this trak has been covered by the good, the bad and the rest … however when Barry – who did not do many covers decided to give the “Barry treatment” without losing any of originality)

I like it like that  –  Blackout Allstars (Put together for a Latin movie of the same name … featuring a variety stars including Ray Barretto, Grover Washington & Dave Valentin amongst others …remixed by Bobby D’Ambrosia)

Trax feat. Five Special, Melba Moore, Skyy, Taylor Dayne

Heaven (you are to me)  –  Five Special (Cleverly named as there were  five members of the band … helped up the ladder by Ron Banks – lead vocalist of The Dramatics … his  brother Bryan Banks of one of the band members)

Good love makes everything alright  –  Melba Moore (From her second ‘Buddha Records’ album comes this under-stated Disco classic … co-written by Van McCoy – this trak turned up on her on her iconic Richie Rivera remixed album ‘Dancin with Melba’ which was released after he departed Buddah)

Skyyzoo  –  Skyy ( From the original album ‘Skyyway’ and remixed by Larry Levan … an eight piece band including three sisters, Denise, Bonnie & Delores Dunning – majority of the trax were written by Solomon Roberts and Randy Muller)

Can’t get enough of your love  –  Taylor Dayne (Blasting out of Clive Davis’s Arista Records – Taylor had a number of hits before she covered Barry White’s ‘Can’t get enough of your love’ … produced and remixed David Cole & Robert Clivilles also known as “C & C Music Factory”)
