Skateboard  –  Chemistry (As the ‘skateboard’ craze gathered momentum New York’s Masterpiece Records released this Disco nugget inspired  by said craze…  co-written & produced by Trumpeteer/Arranger Otto Gomez)

Fascinating you  –  Brass Construction (Previously known as ‘The Dynamic Souls’ this nine piece self-contained Funk band headed by writer/arranger/producer Randy Muller – assigned to United Artists after a previous single on Docc Records – from the album “Renegades”)

I’m gonna dance tonight  –  Paul Johnson (Chicago-an Paul Johnson released a plethora of singles on a variety of his home City’s labels … he blasted overground with this ‘undergound’ masterpiece … from the album ‘The Groove i have’ on “Moody Recordings”)

Trax feat. Angela Bofill, Chic, Brass Construction, Terry Hunter feat. Samantha

Love in slow motion  –  Angela Bofill (Signed to the Jazz-based label GRP where she made two stellar albums before moving unto Arista Records and others … she was also the featured vocalist for such artists as Narada Michael Walden, David Valentin & Johnny Mathis)

Strike up the band  –  Chic (Nile Rodgers & Bernard Edwards were part of ‘New York City Band’ who were the touring musicians behind “New York City” – known for their hit “I’m doing fine” … the duo’s group is so named as a tribute to the stylised U.K avant-garde band ‘Roxy Music’)

L-O-V-E-U  –  Brass Construction (Originally releasing a single on Docc Records which was headed by Jeff Lane before this ten piece were assigned United Artists – which later became part of EMI … fronted by writer/arranger/producer Randy Muller)

Off the wall  –  Terry Hunter featuring Samantha (Not to be confused with the mega-hit album/single of the same name … this trak was released on Chicago’s Vinyl Soul Music – a subsidary of Music Plant Records)

 

Trax feat. Marlena Shaw, MFSB, Brass Construction, Jon Cutler/E-Man

Shaw Biz/Suddenly it’s how i like to feel/Shaw Biz  –  Marlena Shaw (After cutting her musical teeth with ‘The Count Basie Orchestra’ and others – Marlena later signed with Columbia Records towards the late seventies … co-written by the lady herself   ”left on the stage of life with nothing but battery operated love” are some of the lyrics)

Summertime  –  MFSB (Written by George Gershwin for the opera “Porgy & Bess” – this was the title trak from their fifth long player of Philadelphia International’s  ‘house band’ which was based at the city’s Sigma Sound Studios … the album’s theme was based around ‘Summer’)

Ha Cha Cha (Funktion) –  Brass Construction (Headed and produced by Randy Muller – this eight piece Funk power-house  began their recording career with a single on Docc Records which has since been re-released on Kenny Dope’s ‘Kay -Dee Records)

It’s yours – Jon Cutler featuring E-Man (This trak was produced for Chez Music of New York and instantly became anthem – featuring Eric Clark on vocals also known as E-Man … licensed to a variety labels for singles & compilation releases)
