I’m not in love  –  Dee Dee Sharp Gamble  (Former Cameo-Parkway artist known for the hit and dance craze “Mashed Potato” records a Soulful version of the U.K.’s group ’10CC’ evergreen  –  released on her husband’s Philly International  Records)

Chattanooga Choo Choo  –  Tuxedo Junction (Made famous by Glen Miller Orchestra … released on A.J Cervantes’s Butterfly Records & produced by Rinder & Lewis of ‘El Coco’ fame)

Getaway  –  Salsoul Orchestra (Headed by vibraharpist, writer, arranger, producer Vince Montana Jnr & featured former MFSB musicians … from the album “Magic Journey” recorded at Sigma Sound, Philadelphia – originally recorded by Earth , Wind & Fire)

Respect  –  Adeva  (Written by Otis Redding and became a hit for both Otis & Aretha Franklin individually … produced by Smack Productions & remixed by Paul Simpson – released in the U.K on Cooltempo Records)

In the thick of it  –  Brenda Russell  (An A-One wordsmith  –  writer of  :  Dinner with Gershwin also Get Here)

Tell me how it feels  –  John Davis and the Monster Orchestra (From the Night & Day lp that could be described as ‘Cole Porter goes Disco’ as 6 of the 8 trax  are C.P. compositions … this is the lp which put Sam Records on the map : SAM LP 700)

I need it  –  Johnny ‘Guitar’ Watson  (This man made his guitar talk  and in the mid-seventies, he also made it ‘funk’)

Let the music take control  –  the Night Writers  (Credited to Ricky Dillard on cd who is now of : The New Generation Chorale)

The Seven Year  Itch  –  Dr. Buzzard Original Savannah Band  (Stony Browder, August Darnell, Cory Daye, Andy Hernandez, Mickey Seville and not forgetting – the always present dog : Mr. Limelight made up this band)

Get up  –   Chameleon  (One off  lp on Elektra prod. by Fred Wesley – an all a rounder of Disco Funk  &  Soul)

Sweat  –  Jay Williams  (Important trak about the segregation in South Africa … simplicity made it a cut above the rest … released on the then independent Big Beat Records)
