Strange Fruit  –  Nina Simone (This was originally a poem about lynching of predominantly Afro Americans in “The Deep South” of America … it has being claimed that after getting a very large tax bill and being upset Nina re-named the U.S.A as the ‘United Snakes of America’)

Love bug  –  Bumble Bee Unlimited (Written by ‘Master of the Masterpiece’Patrick Adams and produced by Greg ‘Inner Life’ Carmichael – released on the cult label “Red Greg Records” in the U.S. which was released on “Sky Records” in the U.K.)

The World is a Ghetto  –  Phillip Bent (British flautist Phillip was assigned to GRP Records headed by Dave Grusin & Larry Rosen and was part of U.K. freestyle “Jazz Warriors” … a re-interpretation of ‘War’s evergreen ‘The World is a Ghetto’)

My Loleatta  –  Ellis D aka Junior Vasquez (The only way to described this trax as ‘Loleatta Holloway Live’ … a known Dj taped her at a nightclub – it was remixed and released on Arthur Baker’s “Minimal Records”)

Do you wanna be loved  – Robyn Springer (Assigned to Cardiac Records where Robyn makes her debut as a solo artist … produced by Randy Muller – known for his stellar Funk workout for Skyy, Brass Construction, Full Circle amongst others)

Why  –  Carly Simon (From the soundtrack “Soup for One” … this trak was written and produced by Messrs Edwards & Rogers also know as ‘Chic’ … Carly is/was know for her Pop classic ‘You’re so Vain’ rumoured to be about Mick Jagger)

We came to funk ya  –  Fred Wesley & the Horny Horns (Former  James Brown’s 1st Lieutenant  Fred jons George Clinton Funky entourage … from the album “Say blow by blow backwards” which also features Maceo Parker – produced by Clinton, Wesley & William’Bootsy’ Collins)

Love will save the day  –  Jacque (Born JaQuita May … written by Toni C who also wrote “Love gonna get you – Jocelyn Brown” & produced by Marlon D – released on Jellybean Recordings)

(They long to be) Close to you  –  Bobby Womack (Bobby was formerly of “The Valentinos” which included his brothers who had a trak interpretated by ‘The Rolling Stones’ … he gave the “Bacharach & David” standard the ‘Isaac Hayes treatment’ by elongating the trak with a preceding ‘Rap’)

On a day like today –  Gichy Dan’ Beachwood No.9 (After his success with Dr. Buzzard Original Savannah Band – August Darnell branched out to deliver this studio outfit for RCA Records … written by August Darnell & recorded at Blank Tape Recording Studio, New York)

Get loose  –  Evelyn King (Supposedly discovered whilst assisting her mother cleaning Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia … signed to RCA Records originally by Warren Schatz – produced by Morrie Brown with help from Kashif & Paul Laurence)

Another day  –  Kings of Tomorrow (K. o. T. are Sandy Rivera & Jose’ Burgos – Leedia Urtega is the featured vocalist and co-writer with Sandy Rivera … from the long player ‘ “Trouble” released on Defected Records)
