I am love  –  Jennifer Holliday (After ‘that’ Broadway show – this from her first ‘proper’ lp with producers and writers includes Maurice White and David Foster)

After the dance  –  Tailgate (Motown was known to utilise the published songs to a variety of their artists – they decided that the ‘new signing’ 21st Creation cover a Marvin Gaye song from his ‘I want her’ lp)

Totally connected  –  T-connection (The versatility of this self contained band is brilliant as they can transform themselves from out and out ‘Disco’ to catchy memorable ‘Funk’)

Runaway love  –  Bobby D’ambrosia featuring Lasala (When i first heard that someone was going to remaking ‘Moment of my life – Innerlife’ – i thought they are gonna ruin it , the result turned out to be a masterpiece – produced by Bobby D’ambrosia, i have since always looked forward to his productions)

‘Letric love  –  The Destroyers (One-off single on Salsoul  …  if you listen you can hear the inspiration of ‘Fly Robin Fly – Silver Convention’   …. interestingly enough for a Salsoul 12″ it’s timing is under 4 1/2 minutes which was rare)

Goo Goo Wah Wah –  Watson (Melvin Ragin known to us as Wah Wah – a giant in the land of giants of session guitarists working with everyone from Norman Whitfield to Michael Jackson … in a word the who’s who in Black Music  … also featured on ‘Papa was a rolling stone – The Temptations’ …… footnote : check out – Wah Wah Watson & Marcus Miller 2 14 14  on youtube)

Groove on  –  Yo Yo Honey (A very interesting trak as when the original single was released it an excellent Soul/Funk trak in the vein of ‘Real Love – Drizabone’ then it was remixed by M & S (Ricky Morrison & Fran Sidoli) famed for Salsoul Nugget) and rereleased on Jive subsidiary W
