As it’s our first anniversary – i am re-publishing our first ever blog … of course we mustn’t forget if you click on the follow window – you will automatically receive the blog as an e-mail … ENJOY !
Somebody’s gotta win, somebody’s gotta lose – The Controllers (I initially had no interest in this group – as the cover looked so boring and uninteresting (never judge a record by it’s cover) talking to someone in a record shop … believe this label was owned by Frederick Knight)
In the forest – Baby O (A jam session of polished session musicians … was released in the U.K on Precision Records and Tapes (PRT) or PRAT as the then record buyer of HMV Birmingham called them – though they certainly weren’t to licence this infectious piece of Disco)
Tailgunner – Jimmy McGriff (A ‘B’ side with ‘A’ side attitude – the A side was Sky Hawk … released on the T.K. distributed Lester Radio Corporation … a Hammond organ player of magnitude he adapted to the current musical styles of the times)
Why we sing – Kenny & Friends (Released on the short-lived Equip Records – this is trak is a slice of Gospel-House inspired by the Gospel standard ‘His eye is on the sparrow’ …. a version was featured on the movie ‘Sister Act 2’ …. as a friend said when he first heard Kenny’s soaring vocals ‘take it to church’)
