Trax feat. Vanessa Freeman, Penny McClean, Calender and Alton Miller

Hang tight  –  Vanessa Freeman (From one of my favourite U.K. record label – ChilliFunk Records comes Vanessa … co-written by the lady herself and ‘Mr. Restless Soul’ Phil Asher)

Lady Bump  –  Penny McClean (As one of the original session singers of studio group – Silver Convention, Penny made albums by the same writers/producers of said group … this extended mix turned up on a Unidisc Records compilation)

Hypertension  –  Calender (The days when a Funk band consisted of seven members and more – to get  their sound just right … written and produced by Paul L. Kyser who later produced that superb Boogie band Rhyze)

Find a way  –  Alton Miller (Inspired by Djs Frankie Knuckles, Larry Levan, Ron Hardy & Timmy Regisford also musically Stevie Wonder, Parliament & the ‘Philly Sound’ – Alton proceeded to craft his art … for further info Alton Miller .com)

Trax feat. James Vargas, Barbara Mason, Everyday People and Mark Knight

Galveston Bay  –  James Vargas (British but Ibiza based saxophonist James covers  Lonnie Hill’s masterpiece with a sax solo thrown in … he has been featured on a plethora of UK recorded House/Garage trax … a Trippin’ N Rhythm release)

Yes, I’m ready  –  Barbara Mason (A Disco trak was not always 120 plus beats per minute –  Barbara re-recorded her previous hit for her new label and elongating it at the same time … a Buddah Record release)

Funky Generation  –   Everyday People (Because of distribution issues the original album went from Chess to De-Lite and on the way was lost en-route – has since had a cd release … features Hunter Hayes who later had Garage output on Fourth & Broadway)

A new reality  –  Mark Knight & MTV featuring E Man (Released on 1 Trax in the U.K. … E.Man or Eric Clark to his family – wrote this spoken Rap over House/Garage beat)

Trax feat. The Manhattans, Ralph MacDonald, Motivation and Degrees of Motion

When i leave tomorrow  –  The Manhattans (Although formed in the early Sixties – The Manhattans major hits came in the mid-Seventies and the calibre of recordings did not diminish after the hits stop coming … from their ‘Black Tie’ album)

Where is the love  –  Ralph McDonald (Ralph was a top session percussionist and was featured on anybody and everybody in genres including Soul , Jazz, Funk, Pop … probably the most successful of Ralph’s compositions – Gwen Guthrie on vocals)

Are you ready  –  Motivation (Assigned to De-Lite Records – the original home of Funk/Boogie juggernauts Kool & the Gang also Crown Heights Affair … released in ’83 however has since been re-released on cd with extra trax)

Soul Freedom  –  Degrees of Motion featuring `Biti Strauchn (Released on the BMG distributed Esquire Records … written by Ritchie Jones and Eric Kupper – from their only album)
