Born to be alive  –  Partick Hernandez (Licensed from Aquarius Records, France – this trak was released on a little independent called Gem Records in the U.K. which had a variety of musical styles including a Reggae version of Bill Withers ‘Ain’t no sunshine – Jimmy Lindsay)

Bustin out  –  Rick James (Rick’s  brand of Funk was described as ‘Punk Funk’ as fused Funk and Rock …at one time in his career Prince was his supporting opening act –  released on Gordy Records, a subsidary of Motown)

Move  –  Farm Boy featuring Darryl Pandy &(‘Larger than life’ Darryl, burst into the public consciousness via the Isaac Hayes written, Farley ‘Jackmaster’ Funk  produced anthem … released on DJ International)

Trax feat. Carolyn Franklin, Cory Daye, The Mainstreamers and Jocelyn Brown

You are everything  –  Carolyn Franklin (Writer for,  and sister of Aretha blast the Soul out of this Thom Bell/Linda Creed composition … though there has been other versions, Carolyn has certainly taken the crown – recent cd release)

Keep the ball rolling  –  Cory Daye (Released on RCA’s off-shot ‘New York International Records is the female lead vocalist of the cult group ‘Dr. Buzzard Original Savannah Band’  … arranged and produced by Sandy Linzer known for ‘Native New Yorker – Odyssey’)

Just another face in the crowd  –  Phyllis Hyman (A lady who had her feet in both Jazz & Soul …. Phyllis was featured on a strangely named  soundtrak ‘The Fish that saved Pittsburgh’)

Nobody’s wrong  –  Lorraine Johnson (Lorraine came along with writers/producers Jesse Boyce & Moses Dillard when signed on the dotted line with New York’s Prelude Records … from her second album for the said label)

Dear Limmertz  –  Azymuth (Signing to Jazz label Milestone changed the fortunes of this Brazilian combo and also brought them to the ears and feet of a new young British generation)

On my way  –  Darryl D’Bonneau (After releasing 12” singles on a variety of prominent New York labels including Jellybean Recordings, Strictly Rhythm & Easy Street- Darryl drops an album on his own AshBon Records)
