Burn me up  –  The Kay Gees (this is a trak which slipped through the net to Patrick Adams aficionados  … released on Delite Records this was their short foray into Disco with Patrick in the producer’s chair)

Body lovers  –  Con Fun Shun (Former backing band of the Soul Children became artists in their own right … assigned to Mercury Records – this trak was released on 12 inch and was culled from their seventh album on said label)

Living in ecstasy  –  Fonda Rae (Fonda Rae Woods came to my attention via her background vocals for Esther Phillips …  also lead vocalist of Don Armando Second Avenue Rhumba Band – the former percussionist of Dr. Buzzard Orginal Savannah Band)

Love me by name  –  Quincy Jones featuring Patti Austin (I went to see this lady in concert when was touring with her ‘For Ella’ album – which is a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald … Magnificent !)

Sing a song  –  Earth, Wind & Fire (Maurice White and his boys are in fine fettle … there has been a recent re-edit of this trak – whilst it’s great to have an extended version however some of it is ‘lost in translation’)

Funny Granny  –  Everyday People (Produced by Gene Redd (brother of Sharon Redd) – this band did not get their just desert due to problems with distribution … however now on cd it’s worth been including in every Funkateer’s collection)

Apparently Nothing  –  Carleen Anderson (Having been the lead vocalist of U.K band Young Disciples where they recorded this trak for Talking Loud … Carleen reprised the trak for her solo contract for Virgin’s Circa subsidary  – remixed by K-klass)

If you asked me to  –  Patti Labelle (Having been one of the vocalists who who appeared on ‘Live Aid’ in Philadelphia – Pattie signed with MCA and the hits started flowing with her new label … written by ‘The Queen of Power Ballads’ – Diane Warren)

Gonna get along with out you now  –  Viola Wills (A cover of a mid-fifties hit by a duo called Patience & Prudence … after a number of false starts – Viola began having hits via her contract with Ariola Hansa)

The Kay-Gee’s theme song  –  The Kay-Gees (Recorded live in Philadelphia which shows that the KG’s were not only potent in the studio but live also … first trak from their approprriately named ‘Kilowatt’ album)

Let love lives  –  Platinum Doll featuring Pamela Anderson (Not to be confused with the”Baywatch’ starlette but who is related to Carleen Anderson and part of the extended Bobby Byrd & Vicki Anderson family … released on the grounding breaking Sub-Urban Records)
