Trax feat. The Dramatics, Village People, John Klemmer, Brooklyn Friends

Do what you want, be who you are  –  The Dramatics (Written by  Darryl Hall & John Oates – which became a hit for them … released on ABC Records it was more “Dramatic” than the H & O original)

Fire Island  –  Village People (Trak from their self-titled first album … this was a studio concept from the mind of Jacques Morali and the only Village Person was the lead vocalist Victor Willis)

Brazilia – John Klemmer (American saxophonist John’s last album for ABC Records featuring such heavyweights as Lenny White,Paulinho Da Costa & Airto Moreira)

Philadelphia  –  Brooklyn Friends (Sounds like it started as a jam session inspired by ‘Love is the message – MFSB’ and progressed … written and produced by “The Boss : David Morales”)

Trax feat.Beyonce & Stevie Wonder, Passion, Harvey Mason, Shay Jones

So amazing  –  Beyonce & Stevie Wonder (After Luther Vandross passed away, there was a couple of tribute albums dedicated to him including ‘So Amazing – An All-Star tribute to Luther Vandross’ on J Records)

Don’t bring back memories  –  Passion (A studio project devised by writer/producer etc. Ray Martinez who had already proved himself as a backroom boy for Henry Stone’s TK assorted labels – this was a Prelude release)

Marching in the streets  –  Harvey Mason (Harvey was a session drummer before joining Herbie Hancock during his ‘Head Hunters’ faze … title trak from album of the same name on Arista Records)

Are you gonna be there  –  Shay Jones (Having writing and sung with Synth Pop/Industrial Metal band ‘Ministry’ whilst living in Chicago – Shay moved into House Music … this trak being produced by Steve “Silk” Hurley)

Trax feat. Peven Everett, The Trammps, Funk Inc., River Plate Samba Orchestra

Street walker  –  Peven Everett (Known for his House/Garage output however this trak is entrenched in Soul music … Peven is a ‘jack of all trades’ musically who has also dabbled in Hip Hop & Jazz)

Disco Party  –  The Trammps (Recorded at Sigma Sound in Philadelphia  U.S.A. – was their first long player for Atlantic Records -this is an 8 minutes plus work-out even name checking the ‘dance’ of the day)

Smokin at Tiffany’s  –  Funk Inc. (Assigned to Prestige Records about the same time as they became part of Fantasy … this was a trak from their third album ‘Hangin’ out’)

Congo   –  River Plate Samba Orchestra (Released as   a one-off 12″ on Coast to Coast Records – a U.K label … this trak is inspired by ‘In the forest – Baby O)
