Big West  –  Bionic Boogie (Having made a few pennies from a hit he produced for Andrea True Connection on Buddha Records – producer Gregg Diamond put together an ensemble of New York’s studio musicians and called them ‘Bionic Boogie’)

All night long  –  Kool & the Gang (From the album “Open Sesame”, this was overshadowed  by the title trak on Delite Records … New Jersey boys headed by Ronald ‘Kool’ Bell, they started as a Jazz band before diving into the new genre Funk in the mid – late Sixties)

Cruize Kontrol  –  Dj Sneak (“Inspired” by ‘It’s the same old song’ originally recorded by  The Four Tops … Chicago based Sneak looped the trak around also giving it a harder edge – from the Platform E.P. Volume 2 on Canadian ’83 West Records)

I wonder where you are tonight  –  Rose Royce (Motown veteran Norman Whitfield hired a group of  musicians for a soundtrak for a film about a working carwash – he also added a female vocalist to the band … he later assigned them to his Whitfield Records label)

Frenesi  –  Ritchie Family (After having minute success with a Disco instrumental – French producer Jacques Morali with business partner Henri Belolo struck on an idea of making a Disco album consisting of  South American trax on one side and Jacques’s own compositions on the other)

Six Million Steps  –  Rahni Harris & FLO (Released on “Inspirational Sounds” in the U.S. and on ‘Mercury Records’ in the U.K. … Rahni Harris is also known as Rahni Song who wore several musical hats whilst at Hush Productions – home of Meli’sa Morgan, Freddie Jackson, Melba Moore and others)

The Power of Love  – Alex J (Featured on the 3 trak “Do you believe in Soul” E.P. on New York’s Waako Records … inspired by “The New Jersey Sound” – a Chicago House beat with a Soul/Gospel vocal)

Say you will  –  Osamu Kitajima feat. Phil Perry & Rena Scott (Osamu is a Japanese musician known for his array of musical styles – this trak feat. former Montclairs’s vocalist Phil whilst Rena known for her classic album produced by “Mtume & Lucas” … from the lp ‘Dragon King’ released in the U.S on Arista Records)

Together Forever  –  Exodus (Written by Neville ‘Tinga’ Stewart & released on the tiny New York’s cult label “Charlotte Amardie Records” … re-released by Francois Kervokian’s Wave Classics label to re-introduced to keep the trak alive)

Body Slam  –  Bootsy’s Rubber Band (Bassist William “Bootsy” Collins became part of James Brown’s band for a short while before teaming up with Parliament/Funkadelic supremo George Clinton … he later headed his own band under names such as ‘Bootsy’s Rubber Band’ & ‘The Sweat Band’ amongst others)

Let love through  –  Bobby Blackwell (Released on Easy Street – the New York label that helped publicise ‘The New Jersey Sound” … written and produced by Healey LeCator also know as Major Healey for Smack Productions)
