Foxy Lady  –  Crown Heights Affair (The eight piece self-contained band was named after the local area in Brooklyn, New York …moving from RCA Records to the small independent Delite where the hits started to flow)

Dreams  –  Kings of Tomorrow feat. Haze (Kings of Tomorrow are two djs/producers who used a variety of pseudonyms and labels for their releases … features an ‘essence of Caravan – Duke Ellington’)

Jada  –  Pointer Sisters (As real life sisters the Pointers’ released some singles on Atlantic before moving unto Blue Thumb Records … vocally & dress-wise their stylings hark back from the Twenties to the Fifties and were adored by the music critics and fans alike)

Synergy  –  Alec R Constandino & The Synchophonic Orchestra feat. Alirol and Jacquet (Alec came to my attention via Cerrone’s productions & his “Love & Kisses” studio project which was featured in the Disco movie ‘Thank God It’s Friday” starring Donna Summer)

Cut the cake  –  Average White Band (Scottish Funk band were assigned to MCA Records, with little success until an Atlantic  recording contract beckoned … produced by Atlantic’s secret weapon Arif Mardin when hits started flow)

Makin Happy  –  Crystal Waters (Crystal was assigned to Basement Boys Productions although assigned to Mercury Records – she was a (co) writer of her recording(s) which took the dance floors by storm … from her debut album “Surprise”)

Love in slow motion  –  Angela Bofill (Signed to the Jazz-based label GRP where she made two stellar albums before moving unto Arista Records and others … she was also the featured vocalist for such artists as Narada Michael Walden, David Valentin & Johnny Mathis)

Strike up the band  –  Chic (Nile Rodgers & Bernard Edwards were part of ‘New York City Band’ who were the touring musicians behind “New York City” – known for their hit “I’m doing fine” … the duo’s group is so named as a tribute to the stylised U.K avant-garde band ‘Roxy Music’)

L-O-V-E-U  –  Brass Construction (Originally releasing a single on Docc Records which was headed by Jeff Lane before this ten piece were assigned United Artists – which later became part of EMI … fronted by writer/arranger/producer Randy Muller)

Off the wall  –  Terry Hunter featuring Samantha (Not to be confused with the mega-hit album/single of the same name … this trak was released on Chicago’s Vinyl Soul Music – a subsidary of Music Plant Records)
