Give me love – Marc Evans (Or to quote the original title – “Dj Spen’s & The MuthaFunkaz presents which was released in the U.K. on ‘Defected Records’ … Baltimore native was (re)-discovered after the independent release The First Seven Years”)

This must be heaven  –  Brainstorm (Originally from Detroit U.S.A. – Brainstorm were assigned to Tabu Records by music mogul/entrepreneur Clarence Avant where their first album Stormin’ was released … band members includes Belita Woods, Lamont Johnson & Charles Overton – produced by Jerry Peters)

Love Magnet  –  Freda Payne (Signed to hit-making trio – former Motown writers “Holland, Dozier, Holland”s Invictus Records label where she had a monster hit before moving on … from her  Capitol Records’ long player ‘Stares and Whispers”)

Change (makes you want to hustle)  –  Donald Byrd (Trumpeter Donald played with the most of the musicians who are now classed as “The Jazz Greats” whilst at the same time musically ‘not standing still’ … one of the longing standing artists on Jazz label ‘Blue Note’ where he helped create Jazz-Funk & Jazz-Fusion)

I will survive  –  Chantay Savage (Gloria Gaynor’s signature tune was re-resurrected for the House/Garage fans … fellow Chicago-an Steve ‘Silk’ Hurley produced and remixed this nine minutes plus opus – written by Freddie Perren & Dino Fekaris)

Don’t make me wait too long  –  Roberta Flack (From the last lp feat. Donnie Hathaway …this Stevie Wonder composition had sterling dance floor movement – but only in the right clubs)

Change makes you want to hustle   –  Donald Byrd (To make a trak like this – you must have history and this trumpeter had already worked with  Savoy and Prestige labels although this is a Blue Note release)

Give me Joy   –  Marc Evans (Or to quote the original title ‘DJ Spen & The Muthafunkaz presents’ …. before the word ‘Garage’ was coined this trak would’ve been described as ‘Uptempo Soul’)
