Trax featured Esther Phillips, Ripple, The Strangers, Eleanore Mills

When a woman loves a man  –  Esther Phillips (Johnny Otis discovered both Esther & Etta James … named after “Phillips 66 Gas (Petrol) Stations”, grown-up ‘Little Esther’ signed with Lenox Records whose contract was taken later over by Atlantic – cover version of Percy Sledge’s evergreen)

The beat goes on  and on  –  Ripple (After Michael Thevis’s “General Recording Corporation” closed its doors – this self- contained band pacted with New York’s Salsoul Records where they were produced by Floyd Smith – Loleatta Holloway’s husband)

Step out of my dreams  –  The Strangers (Session drummer/producer Howard King & session guitarist/producer Edward ‘Tree’ Moore having worked with such heavy weight as Mtume, Stephanie Mills, & Gary Bartz amongst others put together this studio project … a Salsoul Records release)

I’m looking for Mr. Right  –  Eleanore Mills (Originally known for her cult album on “Astroscope Records” – Eleanor recorded various singles including  this on Vinylmania – the record shop around the corner from ‘Paradise Garage’)
